EIFS and the Building Codes
This online continuing educational program covers how Exterior Insulation & Finish Systems
(EIFS) get approval by major and local code bodies. Program participants are expected to gain a thorough understanding of the following course objectives:
- What is an EIF System
- How EIFS are addressed in the Building Codes
- Development of Code Compliance or Evaluation Reports for EIF Systems:
- Development process
- Requirements to generate a report
- Manufacturer's role
- Evaluation Service's role
- Fire testing required by the Code Evaluation Services:
- Description of tests
- Pass/Fail criteria
- Simulate variety of fire conditions
- Fire testing NOT required by the Evaluation Services, but often done to demonstrate the performance of EIF Systems
Upon completion of the course material, participants must successfully pass a 20-question test covering the subject matter. |
